ParentSquare Notification Types

Posts will be the most common type of message you will see from ParentSquare. Posts are similar to a something you would see on social media, and is delivered to a specific school, group, or class. Posts are typically used for general annoucements, updates, and sharing information, photos, or polls, and offers a unique appointment feature, allowing families to schedule things such as parent teacher conferences through ParentSquare.
Examples of posts you may see:
- District and school newsletters
- Event invitations
- Reminders

Smart Alerts are used as one-way, high-priority announcements sent by your student’s school or the district, and stand out from regular posts so families do not miss important updates.
These allow for short reminders to be shared through email, text message, phone call, and app notification.

Urgent alerts are high-priority messages that provide quick district-wide messages. Urgent alerts provide translation options, and are a quick and effective communication tool to keep our parents and families informed.
