Dr. Amanda AllenThe Grain Valley Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Amanda Allen as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Allen will succeed Dr. Brad Welle, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

The Board's decision follows an extensive search led by the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA), which encouraged input from students, staff, families, and stakeholders throughout the Grain Valley community.

Dr. Allen currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Academic and Student Services of Grain Valley Schools. Prior to her current role, Dr. Allen served as North Middle School Principal, South Middle School Assistant Principal, District Instructional Technology Coach, and 6th and 7th grade math teacher at South Middle School. Dr. Allen has served public education for twenty years overall.

Dr. Allen holds a Doctor of Educational Leadership from William Woods University, an Education Specialist in Technology from the University of Central Missouri, a Master of Science in Administration from the University of Central Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

As a former teacher in the district and a parent who raised my children here, I have a deep personal investment in our success. I love this district, and I appreciate the Board’s faith in my leadership. Together, we will continue to build a bright future for our students,” said Dr. Amanda Allen.

The process to fill the Assistant Superintendent of Academic and Student Services role will begin right away.
