Dear Grain Valley community,

As we stand on the threshold of a brand new school year, I want to take a moment to share my profound excitement and gratitude with all of you. While I am stepping into a new role as your Superintendent, my roots run deep here. Starting my 14th year with the district, I am incredibly honored to continue serving the community, families, and students that make Grain Valley such a remarkable place to live and learn.

Looking back at this past year, we have so much to celebrate together. Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated educators, exceptional students, and supportive families, our district achieved a phenomenal 92% Annual Performance Report score! Alongside that milestone, our community stepped up to ensure our kids were present and engaged, bringing our proportional attendance rate to an outstanding 91.1%. These numbers are a true testament to our shared motto: Every student. Every day.

Building on this powerful momentum, we are focused on the strategic goals we established last winter in partnership with our community. Centered around our "Big Rocks"—Student Learning & Success, Safe Environment & A Strong Sense of Belonging, Equipped & Supported Team Members, and Engaged Families & Community—we will actively track our progress as we bring this vision to life.

Grain Valley is a community that prioritizes the success of all students, and I am deeply enthusiastic about seeing these community driven goals realized:

  • Leveraging a comprehensive literacy framework so all students read, write, speak, and listen with confidence.

Our vision remains focused on being a community where students belong, achieve, and are prepared to contribute and thrive in an evolving world.
