Tanner Todd, Grain Valley High School Class of 2023, achieved first place in the mobile electronics installation competition at the SkillsUSA National contest. Tanner Todd is a part of the Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage along with many other Grain Valley High School students.
The competition was made up of a professional interview, a written exam, and five hands-on tests, including taking electrical measurements, installing consumer electronics equipment in a mobile environment, soldering, working with relay circuits, and troubleshooting electronic circuitry.
Tanner Todd plans to attend Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City to study computer and electronics engineering and then will continue his academic journey at the University of Missouri-Kansas City to complete his undergraduate degree.
Carson Davis of Grian Valley was also able to compete in the job skill Demonstration event for automotive and placed 17th at nationals.
Last year, Grain Valley student Jake Mickelson achieved the gold medal in the mobile electronics competition. We love having students who are passionate about their futures participate in these events.
