Hannah Shackles has been named communications specialist beginning July 1, 2023. In the role, she will serve as public information officer supporting internal and external district communications.
Ms. Shackles is currently employed by the University of Missouri-Kansas City as a recruiter, event coordinator, and communicator for the admissions office. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in journalism and mass communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ms. Shackles is a graduate of Grain Valley High School and has previously served the City of Grain Valley.
This new role results from a restructuring of the district leadership team that includes the reduction of assistant superintendents from three to two.
Superintendent Dr. Brad Welle commented on Ms. Shackles’s return to Grain Valley Schools, “We are pleased to add Ms. Shackles to our district team. She brings the skills to deliver high-quality engagement and communication our community has come to expect. Having grown up here, it is a bonus for us to have a home-grown perspective supporting district transparency. ”
