Mrs. Jessica Reynolds has been named principal of Stony Point Elementary beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Reynolds is currently in her seventh year as assistant principal at Stony Point and previously taught first grade at Stony Point for nine years. She has 21 years of experience overall as a teacher and administrator. Mrs. Reynolds is also the handler of Stony Point’s school therapy dog, Ray.
Mrs. Reynolds earned a bachelor's degree at Missouri State University, a master’s degree from Park University in curriculum and instruction, and a specialist degree from the University of Central Missouri-Warrensburg in administration.
This new assignment follows the announcement last month that the current principal of Stony Point Elementary, Mr. Scott Schmitt, is retiring at the end of this school year.
Superintendent Dr. Brad Welle is enthusiastic about Mrs. Reynolds taking the lead at Stony Point next school year. Dr. Welle commented on her transition from assistant to lead principal saying, “Mrs. Reynolds has been a tremendous contributor to the great learning culture at Stony Point over the years. She is a proven leader who keeps the focus on the needs of each student.”
