GVHS Student Selected To Walk Rose Bowl Parade

Eagles Soar: GVHS Student Selected to Walk Rose Parade in Pasadena, California
Posted on 12/10/2025
Sophomore Aiden StephensThe Rose Bowl is one of the most legendary college football venues, a college football tradition like no other. Typically played on January 1st in Pasadena, California, the Rose Bowl holds the title as the first postseason football game ever established, dating back to 1902. Now, the Rose Bowl is a member of the College Football Playoffs.

While the game holds history, it is about more than just football. For centuries, bands have been an integral part of any football environment, and the Rose Bowl is no different. For the sixth time, a Music for All’s Bands of America Honors Band will perform during the Rose Parade.

Music for All, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit group, selects members to be a part of this prestigious national honor band. Competition is tough, and only 250 performers are selected.

Aiden Stephens, a clarinet player from our very own Grain Valley High School, is among those who were selected for this honor and will soon head out west to take part in the 2026 Rose Parade. Aiden will get the opportunity to spend the week in Southern California, networking, taking part in rehearsals, performing at the Tournament of Roses Bandfest, and of course, performing in the 137th Rose Parade.

The nearly 6-mile parade will be televised on ABC, NBC, or FOX (check your local broadcast listings for more information) on Thursday, January 1, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. CST.

Congratulations to Aiden for the outstanding accomplishment.
