Dr. Beth MulveyGrain Valley Schools Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services Dr. Beth Mulvey has announced her retirement at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Dr. Mulvey joined Grain Valley Schools in 2005 serving as assistant principal at Grain Valley High School. She was promoted to principal of GVHS in 2007 serving in that role for six years. Dr. Mulvey became the director of curriculum in 2015 and later assistant superintendent of academic services in 2016. Her career as a public school educator spans 29 years.


During Dr. Mulvey’s tenure at GVHS, she elevated the rigor and expanded the opportunities for our high school students by adopting innovative programs such as Project Lead the Way, A+, and Advanced Placement. She also spearheaded the planning for state of the art school facilities that increased the capacity of the school to where it’s at today. During her time at the district level, her efforts focused on leading and supporting school leaders and teachers, expanding the academic support services department by adding instructional and technology coaches, and an award-winning MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) program.


Referring to Dr. Mulvey’s retirement, Superintendent Dr. Brad Welle said, “Dr. Mulvey has had a remarkable impact on teaching and learning in our district. She’s a compassionate leader who values relationships and connections above all else. Her contributions to core instruction and interventions have ensured our focus is on the success of each child.”
