Pink Week is a time for students, staff, and the GVSMS community to come together and honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the week, students and staff host a change drive, create raffle baskets, and sell pink items such as bracelets and rubber ducks to help raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The change drive is hosted throughout the week and provides friendly competition between the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students and staff. This year, the sixth-grade students came out on top and secured the win.

In addition, raffle tickets are sold throughout the week and can be used to enter into a drawing for the different raffle baskets that are created. All of the baskets were donated through the generosity of the community.

Two photos showing baskets with gift cards, KC Chiefs items and candy. This year, the GVSMS students and staff raised a grand total of $1,900.00, which is the largest amount to be raised in the 15-year history of Pink Week! Overall, the fundraiser was a great success and helped to create a connection between the school and the community. Thank you to the parents, students, staff, and community for their support, donations, and work to create a successful fundraiser.
